Only 10 days to Perth!

“I’ve got two months left! “And I was saying, “It’s less than a month away,” and now it’s only 10 days away.
I don’t know if it’s a blood type thing, but I’m a typical type B person, so I don’t start preparing until the last minute.
I don’t know why I can’t do it. I mean, I can do it, but even if I do, I can’t concentrate on it.

But I do need to do things like the VISA application, international driver’s license, pocket wifi, etc. in advance.
I wrote them on post-its and put them next to my computer as a “to do list”.
But I was satisfied with the post-it and didn’t take action until the very last minute before the deadline.

So, today, I started to prepare the list as soon as possible because I knew that if I didn’t do anything, I wouldn’t be able to get it done in time.
Then, I started to prepare a list of 3 things that surprised me!!!!

1) My laptop, which I need for work over there, won’t start up!
2) Prepaid SIM from Australia is much cheaper than pocket wifi!
3) I can apply for a VISA ETA with an app on my phone!

1) I was in a huge hurry and this is a seriously bad one.
There was no way I was going to be out of work for 3 weeks, so after about 2 hours of struggling with it, I gave up and sent it in for repair!
I’m praying that it gets fixed properly and I can use it, because I’m in more trouble than anything else. Fionn is praying for it too. lol

2) I was trying to make a reservation to receive the wifi at the airport as usual, and I happened to find a page called “SIM” too.
And when I looked at it more closely, it’s definitely cheaper to buy a foreign SIM and replace it, and you don’t have to carry it with you.
It’s a great way to make domestic calls, international calls, and roaming all for the same price. !!!!
I’m wondering why I haven’t done it before.

The cheapest one I found is $12 for the first month of 80GB!
You can’t use the same number, but you can still use LINE, and you can do all SNS and watch videos around town anytime.
The best part is that not only those who have wifi can use it, but even if Emmet buys it separately, $24 for the both of us is too cheap!
(I’ll write more about the SIMs, including my impressions after I’ve actually used them!)

Lastly, number (3), the 6 month tourist visa that I have to get every time I visit Australia is now on an app!
I don’t have to type in all kinds of information like I used to, I can just take a picture with my phone and read the text.
When you hold up the IC chip in your passport to your phone, all the photos and other information are stored in the app, which is super convenient!
Fionn got his VISA as soon as he applied, but I got a text message saying

In a small number of cases, we cannot immediately issue an ETA.

I have been told again that my ETA will not be issued until everything is verified. This is the third time, I wonder why?
I hope I can get it before I leave the country.

Ten days is a very long time when there is nothing going on, but ten days when there is a lot of things coming up like this is surprisingly fast.
I wonder if I’ll be able to handle it, even though I have some work to finish.

I’ve started slowly preparing today, so let’s not be lazy and keep doing it so we won’t be rushed at the last minute!
I love traveling, but I’m really bad at packing and unpacking!

I’m sure most of the people in the world are the same way.
