Sunday Taco and Movie

(This is a blog translated into English using chat GPT)

I had tacos for dinner after such a long time! We were actually planning to have them last week, but when we went to buy tortillas, they were sold out, so we ended up having Italian food instead.

So this time, I tried using hard taco shells. I’m more of a tortilla fan, so it was really disappointing that the supermarket where I went two weeks in a row didn’t have tortillas. It seems like they stopped carrying them altogether, so I’ll have to explore other places to buy them.

The filling was pretty normal. The fresh salsa was really simple, just tomatoes, bell peppers, lemon, Tabasco, salt, and pepper. I didn’t make guacamole this time; instead, I just cut the avocado and added lemon and pepper. Then there was lettuce, cheese, pickles, and minced meat seasoned with lots of spices. It’s a quick and easy dinner that can be prepared in about 20 minutes.

What’s great is that usually warming up tortillas takes up more time, but with the hard shells, I just put a few of them in the microwave for about 30 seconds (it makes them even crispier!). It’s done in no time!

Looking at it like this, you can see that everything was roughly chopped. But that’s totally fine. It’s delicious enough this way! And it goes so well with beer.

When you look at it this way, it’s a meal that includes lots of fresh vegetables! Moreover, hard shells have fewer calories, so they might be unexpectedly suitable for a diet.

By the way, my favorite combination today was lettuce, minced meat, avocado, and cheese!!

Fionn still doesn’t like tacos, so I made pizza with tomatoes and broccoli,  and corn, which he loves. He finished eating so quickly because he only had his favorite things. I told him he could go to the living room, but even if we’re connected, he doesn’t like being alone in a different room when it gets dark, so he stayed in the dining room and watched Harry Potter.

It seems that he started watching it a little bit last night and found it really interesting! So he decided to continue watching it today. It’s cute how he decides which movie he wants to watch, searches for it using voice search, and watches it alone. He’s truly Emme-chan’s son! Emme-chan is happy that he’s starting to watch Harry Potter at the age of six or so.

By the way, the Friday movie on the day before yesterday on TV was “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom,” right? Fionn loved this movie when he was four years old. When he came home from kindergarten, he would say, “Mommy, put on ‘Temple of Doom’!” and watch it every single day.

He loved it so much that he even dressed up as Indiana Jones for Halloween that year. So on Friday, he was really excited to watch it again and he remembers it well because he has seen it multiple times. He can’t stop explaining what’s going to happen next or who the bad guys are. Emme-chan is so happy to see him growing up as a movie lover.

Today, he finished watchingthe Harry Potter movie and said, “Mommy, I almost cried, but it was so much fun!” He was really excited and told me all about it. And then, when I wondered what he was doing, I found him practicing the Harry Potter theme on the piano after finding a YouTube video of someone playing it. He practiced it over and over again.

The way movies and music connect like this is exactly like Emme-chan! I don’t have that kind of feeling, but it’s really great, isn’t?
This weekend was great, being able to relax and enjoy time at home, combining it with some rest and recovery!
